The Nephrologist is a physician with advanced training who specializes in the care of individuals with kidney problems. Your nephrologist has the ultimate responsibility for your dialysis treatments, writing your medical and dietary orders and coordinating care with other specialists. He ensures that the treatment being offered in our unit meets international standards.
Our Nephrologist: Dr. Saleshando graduated with a MB, BCh, BaO from the University college of Dublin and is a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. He is also a Fellow of Nephrology of the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa. He is an astute clinician with a proven track record of entrepreneurship, having pioneered the erst ever privately-owned training instute in the health sector in Botswana that aims to address a need for health personnel in our region. Your Dialysis Doctor has the responsibility for your dialysis treatments, writing your medical and dietary orders and coordinating care with other specialists. They will review your health status weekly and manage any medical problems you may have. They review your monthly blood tests and advice on what can be done to improve the results if needed.


The nurse manager is the overall supervise for the nurses, technicians and administrative staff and oversees clinical operations. The nurse manager is available to work with you and your primary nurse to coordinate your plan of care. The nurse manager can help you with any questions related to your treatment, dialysis schedule and other concerns you might have about the dialysis unit.
The Nurse or Clinical Technologist on the shift will make sure that you are started on the dialysis treatment as scheduled and as prescribed by your doctor. They are responsible for close monitoring while you are on treatment and for carrying any orders given by the doctor. He /She is responsible for addressing any concern or complaint from you regarding your treatment. They will help you with adhering to your treatment plan and continue to work with you for ongoing progress or changes.
In order to receive dialysis you must have an access created. Your Named Nurse will talk with you about your options such as getting and Arterial Venous Fistula, or Arterial Venous Graft. She / He will Counsel you on the different ways you can receive dialysis. They will provide education and review information to clarify the type of access that is best for you and work closely with you and your healthcare team to make sure you get the best treatment and care possible.


The primary supervisor of the staff on the ground. Responsible for ensuring that you receive proper treatment according to RCI Protocols. Implement the care plan; evaluate effectiveness of interventions and revise as needed. Review blood test results with you every month as needed. Help you with adhering to your treatment plan
The dialysis technician is an individual trained by the dialysis facility to service and maintain machinery. They look after the water treatment plant, the dialysis machines and all other bio-medical machines in our unit. They ensure the machines are serviced and repaired as per manufacturers specification and that our dialysis water quality meets international standards. This is to allow you to receive quality dialysis treatment.
An HCA is an individual responsible for Assisting during machine preparation by removing HD lines, disinfecting of HD machines, cleaning HD machine, using the proper cleaning agent and proper cleaning technique.
They will assist you with the Patient Self Registration Form by weighing you pre and post treatment. They also assist by escorting, pottering of patients to and from the ward, or emergency and/or to their transport.
