In assessing if you have kidney disease and what may be causing it, we would normally do a series of blood tests and urine tests. If necessary you may need a kidney biopsy. This involves putting a needle into the kidney while you lie on your tummy. It is done under ultrasound guidance and local anesthetic. A small sample of your kidney is then taken for further analysis in a laboratory. Further guidance will be given to your doctor, based on what the results are showing.
Patients do not have to plan out when they come in. Simply walk in and you’ll seen.
